A new study by researchers from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has found that a common anti-inflammatory drug (diclofenac) can help with swelling in the hands and feet. The research also found that using a topical gel containing diclofenac could relieve swelling in the hands, feet and ankles. The study authors, Dr. John J. Dolin, of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Dr. Michael J. Pachuca of the University of Oxford, were part of a study to examine the effects of diclofenac on joint and muscle pain in patients with arthritis. The study was funded by the Johnson and Johnson University of Science and Technology and the British National Formulary. The study involved a sample of 22 patients with rheumatoid arthritis treated with diclofenac and 12 healthy subjects. The researchers measured pain at the hands, feet and feet twice daily for the first 3 months. The findings showed that diclofenac treatment led to pain relief. Patients receiving diclofenac for 3 months had significantly less swelling, compared to those who were not treated with the drug. The researchers said: "Our study confirms the use of this medication in arthritis patients, and that diclofenac is not only effective in relieving pain, but also has been shown to be more helpful than placebo." Diclofenac treatment can reduce the severity and duration of arthritis pain and may also improve other joint function, including joint flexibility and strength, in arthritis patients. The study is the first to test the use of a topical drug, which is known as Voltaren, in the treatment of joint pain. Voltaren is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which has been shown to relieve pain and inflammation in the hand, feet and ankle.

Introduction to Voltaren

Voltaren, like all medications, can cause side effects. Understanding the possible side effects of Voltaren is important for those seeking treatment for joint, muscle, and back pain. Voltaren is commonly used for the temporary relief of joint pain and muscle pain in joints such as knees, ankles, and feet. Voltaren works by reducing inflammation and pain signals in the body.

What is Voltaren?

Voltaren is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by reducing the amount of a chemical called cyclo-oxygenase (COX) in the body. Cyclooxygenase is a type of enzyme that helps produce prostaglandins, substances that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Voltaren is commonly used to treat pain, inflammation, and swelling in joints, muscles, and injuries.

Dosage of Voltaren

Voltaren is available in various dosage strengths, including 2.5 milligrams, 5 milligrams, 10 milligrams, and 20 milligrams.
